Vivian Broughton

Vivian is a Gestalt psychotherapist, having completed her psychotherapy training in 1990. She worked in private psychotherapy practice with individuals and supervisees since 1989, and co-ran psychotherapy groups from 1990 until 1999. She first encountered Bert Hellinger’s constellations work in 1995, and after meeting Dr Albrecht Mahr (an original colleague of Hellinger’s) in 1998, she invited him to the UK to teach Systemic Constellations. She ran a formal training in Systemic Constellations under the name Constellations Work Trainings  from 2000 until 2011 by which time she had moved completely to working with trauma.

She met Franz Ruppert in 2004 and invited him to the UK in 2005. Since then she has been a student of his work, organised the translation and edited his first book into English, Trauma, Bonding & Family Constellations, which was published by Green Balloon Publishing in 2008. Subsequently she edited his second book, Splits in the Soul, published by Green Balloon Publishing in 2011, and in 2012 his third book in English: Symbiosis and Autonomy.

In 2010 she published her own book, In the Presence of Many: Reflections on Constellations Emphasising the Individual Context which has been very well received.

Her work is now entirely according to Franz Ruppert’s theories and practice, and she has presented Ruppert’s work at the 2011 US Systemic Constellations Conference in San Francisco, at the World Regional Psychotherapy Congress in Marrakech in 2012, and at the International Congress of Multi-Generational Psycho-Traumatology in Munich, in October 2012.
